VINEDO No.5
FRUITY
VITICULTURE:
Hand-harvested
grapes from Vinedo No.5 (Vineyard No. 5) at the exact stage of ripeness
(October 2001). Old Garnacha vineyards over 50 years of age, cultured
according to traditional techniques.
MAKING:
The
must is extracted according to the "sangrado de l·grima" or "free
running" traditional method. The les are then removed naturally at 8-100C
(500F) in order to clarify the must, which then ferments at a controlled
and constant temperature of 160C (60.80F). The fermentation is extended
as much as possible in order to enhance the scents to the maximum. 100%
tin capsule. Burgundy-style bottle.
TASTING:
Bright
and intense cherry red. Open and varied aroma with a strong berry character,
hints of strawberries, raspberries and wild flowers. Long, silky and
fresh on the palate. Persistence of fruity features and appealing finish.
Serve at 8-100C (46.4-500F). Ideal for all types of light courses: pasta,
vegetable stews, fish, rice. Because of its roundness, it is also recommended
for white meats.
