Bodegas
y Viñedos Jesus Fantelli & Sons is
a family corporation. Created in 1974 by Jesus Carlos Fantelli
Rodriguez and Ermelinda Lamia Olguin, in Santa Rosa, province
of Mendoza, as a fruit and viticulture operation. As time went
by, their sons and daughters Maria Mercedes, Beatriz and Carlos
also joined the firm, as well as Cecilia Vargas and Xavier Moreno
Ventas.
The
winery's construction began in 1979, and from that moment on it
has been in constant evolution. In 1993, in order to respond to
international markets requirements, an important technological
updating was undertaken, using state-of-the-art cooling equipment,
filters, stainless steel and oak barrels and many other modern
technological methods.
At
present, it has a storage capacity of
6,100,000 liters and the winery has 150 hectares under cultivation.
The
goal of this growing winery is to produce a complete line of viticulture
products. In order to reach that goal, we are growing high quality
varietals, improving the harvesting systems and incorporating
techniques and incorporating techniques that allow the production
of super premium wines, contributing to the growing reputation
of Argentine wines both nationally and internationally.
Location:
Santa
Rosa is located at the East side of Mendoza, at 33 Southern latitude
and 1,920 feet over the sea level. It has deep sandy soils, watered
by the Tunuyan River, which begins at the Andes Mountains, 50
miles away.
Surface
watering is supplemented with underground water irrigation. The
region's micro climate is clean and sunny, features that make
it possible to obtain almost perfect grapes and conditions that
make it almost unnecessary to apply chemical treatments. That
is the reason why the winery has given its products the name "Los
Vinos del Sole" (Sun's wines).
This
region also has excellent conditions for growing the different
varieties of red grapes, among them Syrah, Malbec and Cabernet
Sauvignon, as well as white grapes as Torrontés, Chenin,
and especially, Muscadel. The whiter grapes, due to favorable
weather, are harvested under excellent conditions, saving all
of their potential aroma and flavor. This allows making high quality
wines internationally considered amount the best in the world.
